Eligibility
- The PETRONAS “Hot Cars, Cool Cash 2” contest (“Contest”) is open to all Kad Mesra cardholders who are Malaysian citizens aged eighteen (18) and above (“Cardholders”) subject to the following terms and conditions. All transactions must be swiped together with Kad Mesra for it to be considered as a valid entry.
- This Contest is open to all Malaysians and permanent residents of Malaysia, 18 years and above, except for the following category of persons who are NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in the Contest:
- Employees of the PETRONAS group of companies and their immediate family members;
- PETRONAS stations dealers, its employees and their immediate family members.
- The Contest Period shall run from 9 September 2009 until 8 November 2009, both dates inclusive (“Contest Period”).
- Cardholders who spend a minimum of RM20.00 in one (1) transaction at any PETRONAS service stations (including purchases of fuel products, lubricants and NGV) and Mesra Convenient Stores (except for the purchases of Touch ‘N’ Go reloads and E-pay services) during the Contest Period are automatically eligible for one (1) entry. (Any additional RM20.00 spent in a single receipt shall be treated as another entry. For example, a transaction of RM40.00 will automatically entitle the Cardholders to two (2) entries).
- No contest form is required. Cardholders will automatically be considered as an eligible contestant if they are in compliance of all the terms and conditions stated herein.
- All entries received in a particular month will be considered as eligible to win only the prizes offered for that particular month. Entries will not be carried forward to the next or following month.
- All winners of the Contest will be selected via a pre determined electronic selection system. PDB’s decision on all matters relating to this contest (including the selection of winners via the pre determined electronic selection system) shall be final and binding. No correspondences relating to the winner’s selection will be entertained.
- During the Contest Period, a total of three hundred and ninety eight (398) winners will be selected to win the Grand Prizes or Cash Prizes, as further explained in the table below:

- The names of all Prize-winners will be notified through publication in major local newspapers and/or on the www.mymesra.com.my websites.
- The Grand Prize winners shall be bound by further terms and conditions as determined by PETRONAS at its sole discretion.
- All Prizes must be claimed within six (6) months from the date of publication of the winners’ names mentioned in Item 9 above. All Prizes are not exchangeable for cash or any other items or packages.
- PETRONAS reserves the right at anytime at its absolute discretion without prior notice, to substitute any of the Prizes with other items of similar or higher value.
- Prizes are non-transferable and each Prize winner is entitled to win only one (1) Prize during the duration of the Contest Period.
- PETRONAS reserves the right to choose the specifications of the Prizes and PETRONAS’s decision on this matter is final.
- All Prizes given are on an “As Is Where Is” basis and title in the Prizes and any risk of loss or damage to the Prizes passes to the Prize winners upon physical delivery of the Prizes to the Prize winners. PETRONAS shall not be liable or obliged to recognize or replace any defective, lost, damaged or stolen Prizes or for any matter regarding maintenance, warranty or any additional costs and/ or fees for all Prizes given away.
- By entering or participating in the Contest, each and every Cardholder hereby fully and unconditionally agrees and accepts all terms and condition here in contained and agrees that the decisions of PETRONAS regarding the Contest and all matters relating to or in connection thereto are final and binding and no queries, appeals or correspondences will be entertained.
- Non-compliance by the Cardholders, contestants and/or winners with any of the terms and conditions herein contained shall entitle PETRONAS to disqualify any entry and/or revoke any prize awarded.
- PETRONAS reserves the right to cancel, shorten, extend, suspend or terminate the Contest Period at anytime prior to the expiry of the Contest Period without prior notice and reserves the right to vary, modify, delete or change any of the terms and conditions herein contained at anytime at its absolute discretion without prior notice. For avoidance of doubt, any cancellation, extension, suspension or termination of the Contest Period at anytime prior to the expiry of the Contest Period shall not entitle the participating Cardholders to claim any compensation from PDB for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred by the participating Cardholders as a result of the said cancellation, extension, suspension or termination.
- PETRONAS reserves the right to use the names, addresses, photographs, information and documents of the Cardholders, contestants and/or winners in advertisements, other form of publicity or future marketing purposes from time to time and participation of the Cardholders contestants and/or winners in the Contest constitutes their consent to such use, without further payment or consideration or notice.
- PETRONAS shall not be held responsible or liable for any claims of loss or damage to property or personal injury or loss of life by the Cardholders, contestants, winners and/or any party resulting from or arising out of or in connection with this Contest or the prizes given under this Contest.
- These terms and conditions prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any brochure or other promotional materials advertised under this Contest.
- In the event of any inconsistency between the English Language and the Bahasa Malaysia versions, the terms and conditions in the English version shall prevail.
